Sommer 2020:  «Sven Hörnell: Photographing Liberation»

The temporary exhibition «Sven Hörnell: Photographing Liberation» can be seen at Narvik War Museum until August 31st 2020.

In May 1945, the Swedish photographer Sven Hörnell (1919-1992) followed the Norwegian police troops from Sweden to Narvik, and further on to Tromsø. He photographed soldiers, civilians, and prison camps. The current exhibition presents moments from Hörnell’s journey through Northern Norway. The texts in the exhibition are in Norwegian and English.

The photos in the exhibition are part of the collection from Kamratföreningen Lapplands jägare Kiruna (Sweden).
